Aerial View of Pianemo Islands
The Pianemo Islands is one of the major sight in Raja Ampat. The name Pianemo comes from the Biak word which means "Connector for Shaft and Spear Head." When viewed from afar, the island formation looks like a trident disconnected from the shaft. As you get closer, the perspective is diminished and the islands formation will look like a connected, complete trident.
Dry Rock Formation on The Way to Pianemo
In contrast to the lush greenery seen at Pianemo, the area near Pianemo is surrounded by grey rocks. This is one of the most interesting rock formation that I found there. Despite the dryness, vegetations still managed to find their way to survive on the top of the rocks.
Exploring The Pencil Rock at Raja Ampat
Speedboat passengers are exploring the famous Pencil Rock at Kabui Bay at Raja Ampat. The Pencil Rock, located at the bottom of the photograph, got its name because it is shaped like the tip of a pencil. Rumors have it that this rock will be added to the UNESCO Global Geoparks list.

Putting Up Christmas Decoration at Yenbuba Village
Poverty doesn't stop people at Yenbuba Village to celebrate and decorate their village for the upcoming Christmas. Because the villagers do not have money to decorate their village with lights, they put water bottled painted with bright color as their Christmas decoration.
Yenbuba Village Retail Store
One of the villagers in Yenbuba Village make a living as a confectionary retailer at Yenbuba Village in Raja Ampat. He mostly sells sweets and snacks. The store consists only of one door and one window where the customer can see the item selection. The main part of the house is the warehouse where the inventory is stocked.
The Sea Cleaner at Sawinggrai Village
The first thing in the morning that this Sawinggrai resident do is put his snorkel on and jump into the water. He looks for driftwoods and other objects that might cause harm to the coral reef below. He literally cleans the sea there with his own hands.
