Orangutan in The Rain
AWARDS RECEIVED:
Sony World Photography Award - Indonesia National Award - 1st Place - 2015
National Geographic Photo Contest - Honorable Mention - Nature - 2015
PHOTO CAPTION:
This is the most famous photo that I ever took. Won 1st place in Sony World Photography Award. Won Honorable Mention in National Geographic Photo Contest. Here's the story behind the scene: I was taking pictures of some Orangutans in Bali and then it started to rain. Just before I put my camera away, I saw this Orangutan took a taro leaf and put it on top on his head to protect himself from the rain! I immediately used my DSLR and telephoto lens to preserve this magic moment.

Dramatic Sunset Scene in Tanah Lot
Tanah Lot is one of my favorite photography place in Bali to take sunset shots. I visited this place quite a bit but it's very rare that I get this kind of picture.
The sky was very dramatic and the silhouette of people who were photographing their friends and the sunset really adds mystery and complements this shot very well. This one was a lucky shot and I'm framing this one!

Lake Avon, Christchurch, New Zealand
This has to be my all time favorite picture of Christchurch, New Zealand. I took this shot from a bridge near Lake Avon. Every time I look at this picture, I feel taken back to that serene and peaceful place.

Kawah Ijen Sulfur Worker
A Kawah Ijen (Ijen Crater) Sulfur Worker. Life is tough for these people as they have to go down the crater and carry close to 90kg of solid sulfur and walk 6km every day. If you visit Ijen, please show them some respect and support.

A Surfer in Paradise (Bingin Beach)
This exotic and hard to find beach in Bali is a surfer's paradise. Getting down to this beach is not easy but once you're here, you'll be presented with numerous photography opportunity. You'll find many serious surfers here and they will welcome you to their paradise (and let you take their pictures too!)

Gorgeous Sunset Overlooking Beautiful New Zealand Landscape
I took this shot when I was driving down to Wanaka in South Island, New Zealand. When you see this kind of scenery, you HAVE TO stop your car and take a shot. Period.

Icy Mountain Seen From Queenstown Airport, New Zealand
I saw this gorgeous, icy mountain from the Queenstown Airport, New Zealand as I was waiting for my delayed flight. In New Zealand, I don't mind if my flight got delayed because it's more photography time for me!
